Kochi: The former High Court judge D. Sreedevi here on Saturday called for a joint fight by women's organisations against trafficking, child marriage and dowry. She was inaugurating a `Legal Awareness Programme for Women' organised by the Kerala State Legal Services Authority, Forum for Awareness and Socio-cultural Transformation of Women (FAST) and the Chavara Cultural Centre. Ms. Sreedevi said women should be made aware of their Constitutional rights. Women should be physically, mentally and economically empowered. Though women occupied positions of authority, they continued to face discrimination in society. The former High Court judge K. Sukumaran said women should be made aware of various laws relating to the protection of their rights.
