Seven meet records bettered

NEW DELHI: Seven meet records were set on the second day of the Delhi State sub-junior and junior swimming championships at the Talkatora pool here on Saturday.

Praveen Tokas accounted for two of the records in the boys group I section, clocking 29.77 (previous 31.34) in the 50m back-stroke event and 2:23.34 (previous 2:24.22) in the 200m individual medley.

The other record-breakers were: Anwesha Hore (20:22.84, previous 20:31.60) in 1500m freestyle of the girls group I section, Sandeep Sejwal (2:32.18, previous 2:37.02) in 200m breast-stroke of boys group I, Anu Singdha (36.85, previous 36.86) in 50m back-stroke of girls group I, Harpreet Kaur (1:12.96, previous 1:14.81) in 100m butterfly of girls group II and the Jugla Singh Tairak Sangh `A' team in the 4x200m freestyle relay of the boys group II section (9:25.28, previous 10:05.15).

Group III: 200m freestyle: Rishab Pawar 2:26.84; 50m back-stroke: Jayant Mehlawat 38.44; 100m butterfly: Jayant Mehlawat 1:15.07; 200m individual medley: Jayant Mehlawat 2:51.15; 4x50m medley: JSTS `A' 2:41.95. Group IV: 50m breast-stroke: Kabir Rajput 45.15.
