CHIKMAGALUR: Karnataka Minister for Women and Child Welfare H.K. Kumaraswamy said here on Sunday that the Government would set up a welfare fund for the physically challenged. At a felicitation programme organised jointly by the Zilla Vachana Sahitya Parishad and the Ashakirana school for the visually impaired, Mr. Kumaraswamy said the stipend being given to 3.8 lakh physically challenged persons in Karnataka had been increased to Rs. 200 a month. He said there were 9.40 lakh physically challenged persons in the State and 1,750 self-help groups were formed.
