Medha Patkar criticises Advani's statement

Badwani: Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar today alleged that a statement by BJP leader L.K. Advani in the RSS mouthpiece Organiser amounted to ``propaganda'' against the NBA.

``Mr Advani is not aware of the Sardar Sarovar Project's ground realities. The article described the Andolan as anti-Hindu and a supporter of the US. In reality, the NBA had vociferously protested against U.S. President George W. Bush's India visit,'' she told UNI here.

At a programme in Mumbai two days ago, Mr Advani said protests -- in the name of oustees - were responsible for the delay in development projects and added that the Andolan was an example. — UNI
