Yaksha Nritya Vaibhav Sapthaha inaugurated

SHIMOGA: A week-long "Yaksha Nritya Vaibhav Sapthaha-2006' took off at Kuvempu Ranga Mandir here on Sunday amidst scenes of enthusiasm.

Noted Yakshagana exponent H. Sridhar Hande inaugurated the event. The Yakshagana episodes to be performed from September 3 to 9 include Pramilarjuna Babruvahana Kalaga, Abhimanyu Kalaga, Panchavati Jatayu Moksha, Renuka Mahatme-Bhargava Vijay, Krishnarpana, Venu Visarjane and Yakshakadamba.

Shatavadhani R. Ganesh will hold discourses on "Mankatimmana Kagga" from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. from September 7 to 9 as part of the event, organised by the Abhyudaya Shimoga, Shimoga Diagnostics Centre and Mathura Food Products, in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture.
