Third phase of counselling from September 6

It will be held for B.Tech/MBBS/B.Pharm and LLB candidates The interview time for each category students is available on the CENTAC websitewww.centac.pon.nic.inor www.pec.edu.

PONDICHERRY: The third phase of counselling for B.Tech/MBBS/B.Pharm and LLB will be held on September 6 and 7 at the Centralised Admission Committee office.

On the first day, counselling will be held for B.Tech aspirants under all categories. Counselling for MBBS and other biology-based courses and LL.B will be held on second day.

The interview time for each category students is available on the CENTAC website www.centac.pon.nic.in or www.pec.edu.

A release from the CENTAC office said eligible candidates should attend the interview with original certificates and a demand draft for Rs. 1000 (Rs. 250 for SC) for candidates appearing for the first time.

Those who have already attended the counselling should take a demand draft for Rs. 500 (Rs. 125 for SC), towards the non-refundable counselling fee.

CENTAC officials told The Hindu that 147 seats are vacant in the five engineering colleges put together.

The Regency Engineering College, Yanam, with 76 seats left to be filled has the maximum number of vacancy followed by Bharathiyar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikal, with 36 seats. The three colleges in Pondicherry put together have 35 seats.

Out of the seven medical colleges in the territory, only three have vacancies. Sri Lakshmi Narayanan Medical College has four seats, Sri Manakula Vinyagar College, 2 seats and Arupadai Veedu Medical and Hospital has one seat left.

There were ten vacant seats in the Government Law College here, officials said.
