PUDUKOTTAI: St. Joseph's College of Engineering (Chennai) defeated Sethu Institute of Technology (Madurai) 72-24 to clinch the title at the Anna University inter-zone basketball tournament for women here on Sunday. Yamuna scored 11 points for the winner, while Suseela managed 12 points for SIT. Adhiyaman Engineering College (Hosur) defeated Periyar Maniammai Engineering College (Thanjavur) 38-34 to finish third. The results: Semifinals: St. Joseph's CE 57 (Sofia 12, Rose Mary 10) bt Adhiyaman EC 13 (Annet 10); SIT 53 (Tamilselvi 14) bt Periyar Maniammai EC 36 (Murugarani 21). — Sports Reporter
