Al-Umma sympathiser held

CHENNAI:
A 27-year-old Al-Umma sympathiser wanted in connection with two murder cases, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team of the State Crime Branch Criminal Investigation Department (CB CID) here immediately after his marriage on Friday.
The police said Rasool Mohideen of Melapalayam was absconding for nine years. He was arrested at Gandhipuram in Choolaimedu. He was later remanded to custody.
The prosecution case was that on August 11, 1997, Tailor Shankar and Pookadai Kumar of Melapalayam, Tirunelveli, were murdered. The same day, Selvakumar, a homeopath of Melapalayam was also killed. The murders were consequent to the suspicion that the victims were RSS sympathisers.
