TIRUNELVELI : Preliminary selection and campus recruitment of engineering students to the Army will be held from September 8. The presiding officer and preliminary selection in-charge, Col. J.K. Nair, said in a statement that students of third and final year could participate in the selection. Interested students may attend the selection with an application, copy of the SSLC or matriculation certificate and a passport size photo.

Selected candidates will have to attend a Service Selection Board interview. Successful candidates will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 8,250 during the final year of their engineering course and will be inducted into the Army as lieutenants. Selection will be held in the following colleges:

Syed Ammal Engineering College, Ramanathapuram (Sep. 8 - 10 a.m.), Jayaram College of Engineering, Tiruchi (Sep.11-10 a.m.), Sastra Deemed University, Thanjavur (Sep. 12-10 a.m.), EGS College of Engineering, Nagapattinam (Sep.12-3 p.m.), Moolakkarai College of Engineering, Pudukottai (Sep.13-10 a.m.), Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering, Karaikudi (Sep.13-3 p.m.), PSNA College of Engineering, Dindigul (Sep.14-10 a.m.), PTR College of Engineering, Madurai (Sep. 15 - 10 a.m.), SVC College of Engineering, Puliyangudi (Sep.15-3 p.m.), Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, Tiruchendur (Sep. 16 - 10 a.m.), St. Xavier's College of Engineering (Sep.18-10a.m.), Francis Xavier Engineering College, Nellai (Sep.19-10 a.m.), National Engineering College, Kovilpatti (Sep.20 - 10 a.m.) and Mepco Schlenk College of Engineering, Sivakasi (Sep.20 - 3 p.m.)
