Man stabbed to death by sons

CHENNAI : A 45-year-old-man was killed, allegedly by his two sons, in Choolai under Pulianthope police station limits here on Sunday.

Police said Mano alias Manoharan had two wives and a dispute over property erupted between the two families. The altercation snowballed into a melee in which Mano was reportedly stabbed by his two sons. Further investigation is on.

One held, jewels recovered

A 40-year-old man identified as Lawrence of Manali was arrested here on Sunday on charges of committing robbery and other crimes.

Police said that a victim raised an alarm in Valasaravakkam area after he lost his purse, following which the public chased and caught Lawrence.

Police said he had indulged in several crimes for the last two years.

Based on his confession, police recovered over 50 sovereigns of jewels from Lawrence.
