BANGALORE: A man and his wife died after consuming poison in their house in Hanumantanagar police station limits on Sunday. Their two children, who had also consumed poison, are in hospital. According to the police, Balaji (32), a driver of the chairman of Pattangere City Municipal Council, was living with his mother, his wife, Shoba (30), and two children, Priyanka (5) and Jothika (10), in a house in Hanumantanagar Pipeline Road. The police said Balaji's mother went to a marriage in the afternoon today. Soon after she left, Balaji, Shoba and their children consumed poison. After some time, a few neighbours who came to the house found Balaji and Shoba dead, the police said. Priyanka and Jothika, who were found struggling for life, were taken to Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. The condition of the children is stated to be serious. The Hanumantanagar police have found a note written by Balaji and Shoba. The reason for the act is yet to be established.
