Shift bus stop

The first stop for city buses bound for Karamana, Thirumala, Pravachambalam, Balaramapuram, etc is in front of the Sreekumar-Sri Visakh Theatres at Thampanoor. Manjalikulam and Sree Subramania Swamy Koil Roads meet here and the RMS office is just across the road.

This being a busy junction, there is always a heavy rush and as such the elderly and women find it difficult to board buses. If this stop is shifted to its earlier place in front of the G. Chandrasekhara Pillai Building near the railway overbridge it will be more convenient to the public.

Save pedestrians

The road between Medical College Junction and Sreekariyam is very congested during daytime, especially peak hours of 8.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Footpaths on both sides of the road are taken over by street hawkers, parked scooters, bicycles, motorcycles, autorickshaws, hand-drawn carts and even cars. Construction materials are dumped on them.

At the receiving end of this callousness are the pedestrians. The authorities are requested to clear these obstacles and make the footpaths available for pedestrians' use.

Post office building

A board `Site for Karamana Post Office' was put up about three years ago on the site purchased by the Postal Department at Karamana, along the National Highway. This plot has been in possession of the Postal authorities for the last 15 years. But Karamana post office is still functioning in a cramped rented building. The PMG, Kerala, had said in March 2004, that a building for Karamana post office would be constructed during the 10th Plan period.
