Aerial survey to monitor traffic on immersion day

    HYDERABAD: Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) A. K. Khan on Sunday said an aerial survey would be conducted at regular intervals to monitor the traffic situation on the main routes in the old city where the annual Ganesh immersion procession would be taken out on Wednesday.

    Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Khan said as many as 2,000 traffic police personnel were being deployed for the task and necessary instructions would be given to all of them through wireless sets if any area witnesses traffic snarls. He advised people to utilise public transport system like RTC buses and MMTS trains to reach Hussainsagar as personal transport would not be allowed in the vicinity.

    Mr. Khan requested revellers to park their vehicles at the separate parking lots created by the traffic police at NTR Stadium, Nizam College, Public Gardens, Institute of Engineers, MMTS Railway Station at Khairatabad, Ranga Reddy district Zilla Parishad office in Anandnagar, Goseva Sadan, Kattamaisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund and Budda Bhavan.

    Meanwhile, the Regional Transport Authority said it would deploy expert mechanics at Chaderghat, Moosarambagh, Himathpura, Charminar, Punjagutta, Khairatabad, Ranigunj, S.D. Road, Basheerbagh and M.J. Market to repair lorries that break down on the main procession route.

    Hussainsagar, Saroornagar lake, Miralam tank, Hasmathpet, Safilguda and Durgam Cheruvu.
