Reliance dealers' protest today

Staff Reporter

Consumers shelling out Rs. 2.50 more per litre

HYDERABAD: Members of the Reliance Petroleum Dealers Welfare Association (RPDWA) would stage a dharna in front of Reliance Industries Limited office, Raj Bhavan road here on Monday, protesting against the difference in Retail Selling Price (RSP) of diesel and petrol at Reliance outlets in the State when compared to public sector petrol pumps.

Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, president RPDWA S. Maruthi said owing to the difference in RSP their sales were adversely affected and the same was brought to the notice of Reliance Industries Limited management at a recent meeting held at Mumbai on July 3.

"The difference of Rs. 2.50 per litre in RSP on both diesel and petrol is not only affecting us but also the consumers as well and over the past three months each of us have been suffering losses to the tune of nearly Rs.2 lakhs per month," he said.

He said despite the management assuring to come out with a package before August 31, there was no sign of it till date.
