Italian couple marooned

TIKAMGARH (MP): An Italian couple, on a visit to a sanctuary, was marooned in a forest at the tourist spot of Orchha in Tikamgarh district in Madhya Pradesh due to floods, police said on Monday.

Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Rai said Erniri Leone and Anban Sini were safe with the people of the forest villages of Singhpura and Lautana.

Food arrangements had been made. The foreigners would be brought back after water, which was flowing six feet above the bridge on the Betwa river, receded.

The couple had gone to visit the sanctuary along with a guide two days ago.
