Aniket in last four

BANGALORE : Aniket Koparkar defeated R. Rajesh 4-3 to enter the semifinal of the men's event in the inter-institutional table tennis tournament at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium.

Aniket will clash with Subajit Saha in the last four. Top seed Sharath Kamal had it easy against Anirban Nandi. G. Jitendra made the last four stage beating Shivaji Datta.

In the women's section, Poulomi Ghatak, Mantu Ghosh, Mousomi Paul and Mouma Das entered the semifinals.

The results:

Quarterfinals: Men: Sharath Kamal bt Anirban Nandi 6-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-5, 5-11, 11-8; G. Jitendra bt Shivaji Datta 9-11, 11-3, 7-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-6, 11-9; Subhajit Saha bt Sourav Chakraborthy 13-11, 11-7, 7-11, 12-10, 8-11, 14-12; Aniket Koparkar bt R. Rajesh 11-6, 10-12, 12-10, 8-11, 11-7, 8-11, 11-8.

Women: Poulomi Ghatak bt Neha Aggarwal 13-11, 11-9, 7-11, 12-10, 11-5; Mantu Ghosh bt J. Swarna 4-11, 11-9, 11-5, 7-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-8; Mousomi Paul bt Nandita Saha 11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 11-6, 11-8; Mouma Das bt Kasturi Chakraborthy 9-11, 3-11, 11-6, 11-4, 6-11, 11-5, 11-8.
