Chief Ministers meet today on internal security

NEW DELHI:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will preside over a meeting of Chief Ministers here on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen internal security in the wake of heightened terror threat, naxalite menace and insurgency in the northeast.
The meeting is being held at the Prime Minister's 7 Race Course Road residence. Home Minister Shivraj Patil will make the opening remarks.
Official sources said all Chief Ministers, barring those from Tamil Nadu and Sikkim, would attend the meeting. National Security Adviser M.K. Narayanan, Intelligence Bureau Director E.S.L. Narasimhan, Home Secretary V.K. Duggal, chiefs of the Central Para-Military forces, and officials from the PMO would be present.
