Sudhir, Kiran Kumar slam centuries

HYDERABAD: Centuries by Sudhir (111, 11x4) and M.S. Kiran Kumar (154, 14x4, 1x6) helped ECIL defeat Indian Air Force by 134 runs in the A-Institution league cricket championship here on Monday.

The results:

A-Division (one-day): Red Hills 261 for six (Azam 53, Amjad 53, Ilyas Shareef 55, B. Rakesh four for 79) bt Vijay Bharathi 111 (Abrar five for 29).

Cheerful Chums 199 (Ravikanth 61) bt OMC 170 (Venkatesh 58, Vishal five for 35).

Hyder XI 125 (Abbu four for 21) tied with Apex 125.

Kakatiya 129 (Pavan 40, Manoj five for 34, Vara four for 43) lost to SN Group 130 for three (A. Karthik Narayan 57 not out).

Khursheed Jah 224 (Md. Abid 55, Md. Zameeruddin 52, S. Rohit four for 80) bt United 208 (Prashant 62, Shravan 47, Syed Shakir five for 26, Ahmed Khan five for 42).

A-Institution league: ECIL 319 for three (Sudhir 111, M.S. Kiran Kumar 154) bt IAF 185.

A-3 Division (one-day): Gaganmahal 120 (Ramanjaneya Raju five for 45, Vishnu Prasad five for 48) lost to Ekalavya 123 for three (Aditya 50).

Youth CC 180 (Md. Zaheer 59, Hari 50, Parmeshwar six for 31) lost to Parishram Bhavan 181 for four (Sarfraz Mohammad 105, Ramesh four for 32).

Hat-trick by Moizuddin

Left-in Mohd. Moizuddin's hat-trick fashioned AC Guards XI's 3-0 win over Friends Club in the A-2 division hockey league championship here on Monday. Moizuddin struck in the 40th, 50th and 56th minutes.

Patnaik, Vamsi bat well

Centuries by Viswajeet Patnaik (151 not out) for Starlets and Vamsi (106) for Hyderabad Cricket Academy were the highlights of the HCA Schools league cricket championship here.

The scores:

Schools league: Starlets 297 for eight (Viswajeet Patnaik 151 not out, M. Govind 46, B. Kiran four for 76) bt Sungrace 124.

Hyderabad CA 272 (Vamsi 106, Vasanth 75, Sainath four for 66) bt WMCC 222 (Haque 63, Ranjith 61, Vasanth four for 42).

Boys Town 257 for eight (Shaikh Waheed 58) bt Manikumar 184 (Ramesh 85, Shaikh Wahed four for 56).

Anurag, Pradeep sizzle

V. Anurag Reddy's 225 (34x4, 1x6) and an all-round performance by M. Pradeep (104 and five for 48, including a hat-trick) helped Raju's CC score a 129-run win over Universal CC in a C-division cricket league here.

Raju's 454 for eight in 50 overs (V. Anurag Reddy 225, M. Pradeep 104, Y. Ravi Chandra 81) bt Universal 325 (Jitendra 69, Siril 72, M.Pradeep five for 48).

Sub-junior tennis

The Excel Wilson sub-junior tennis tournament will be held from September 9 to 12 at MCH Courts (Jubilee Hills) for boys and girls in the age groups of 10 and 12 years. Entries close on September 9 and further particulars can be had on phone no. 31000999.

Swimming trials

Trials to select the Visakhapatnam district men and women's teams for the inter-district championships will be held at the Aqua Sports Complex in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday (September 5), according to a press release on Monday.
