Sanaa posts win
NEW DELHI: Sanaa Bhambri defeated fellow qualifier Lubov Dorofeeva of Uzbekistan 6-2, 6-1 in the first round of the women's section in the $100,000 Asian tennis championship at Tashkent on Monday.
Sandhya Nagaraj lost 6-3, 6-2 to Ksenia Palkina of Kyrgyzstan. In the men's section, sixth-seeded Karan Rastogi lost 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 to Oh-Hee Kwon of Korea.
Other results: doubles: Pathanjali Ravishankar / Mohammed Al Ghareeb (Kuw) bt Vivek Shokeen and Vishnu Vardhan 6-4, 6-7(4), 7-6(3); Mustafa Ghouse and Alexey Kedriouk (Kzk) bt Gafur Ishmatov and Oleg Ogorodov (Uzb) 6-1, 6-1.
