NEW DELHI: Sourav Ganguly said on Monday that he was not dejected by his omission from the Champions Trophy squad and would now focus on doing well in domestic cricket to give himself another shot at a comeback. The former captain said the decision not to include him did not come as a surprise as the selectors could not have made changes into the one-day side which toured Sri Lanka as no matches were played there. "Actually everybody expected it because they had picked the squad for Sri Lanka but not a single ball was bowled. So it would have been difficult to replace players and they stuck with the same 15," he told a TV channel. "So, the question of dejection does not arise. The same squad had to be picked because the boys did not get the opportunity in Colombo," he added. However, Ganguly said he was still hopeful of making a comeback. "The World Cup is a long way off. There is some cricket before that. I'm looking forward to the domestic season. I will try and score some runs and see what happens," he added. PTI
