HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the High Court on Monday expressed displeasure at the lack of progress in the case pertaining to disappearance of Mohd. Feroz Khan, a key witness to City Task Force Bomb Blast case. The Division Bench comprising Justice Bilal Nazki and Justice Venkateswara Reddy was delivering the final judgment in the writ petition wherein a direction was sought for production of Feroz Khan in the court. It may be recalled that the bench directed the police to file counter affidavits. When the statements of the police were not satisfactory, the bench directed special team to be constituted by the Commissioner of Police. The Director- General of Police and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, had to appear before the court in person to explain the situation. The court made caustic comments about the leisurely attitude exhibited by the police machinery. The final judgment directed a special team of experienced officers be constituted to trace Feroz Khan. The police are to file fortnightly reports before the Judicial Registrar of the court. The bench directed the police to file the final report before the court for the perusal of the bench. The bench wanted the Commissioner of Police to supervise the work of special team. The youngster, a resident of Moosarambagh, was reported missing from March 21. The Malakpet police had registered a case of man missing and subsequently his relatives moved the High Court. The city police had then constituted a special team to trace him and the Government announced a reward of Rs. 50,000 to anyone giving information about Feroz Khan.
