THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The slush on the road created by an incomplete attempt to repair a leaking pipeline of the Kerala Water Authority(KWA) at Kesavadasapuram led to at least three road accidents on Monday evening. According to the city police there were at least three occasions when two-wheelers skidded and crashed near the traffic island at Kesavadasapuram injuring the riders. Officials of the KWA told The Hindu that a leak was noticed near the traffic island at Kesavadasapuram nearly a week ago. Since so many lines pass through the area the leaking line could not be immediately identified. After failing to identify the line by manual random digging, the KWA decided to use an earth-mover to dig up the road on Monday morning. By evening the leaking line, however, was yet to be located. Officials of the KWA say the traffic police asked them to suspend the digging of the road as it was causing traffic congestion at the busy junction.
