Caring for hapless animals

Bangalore: Many talk about humane treatment to animals. Some even parade with placards to grab the attention of the media. A few actually get down to doing something for the hapless animals.

Jain Group of Institution's corporate social responsibility model named "JGI Life" conducted last weekend an animal health support programme, "Gopala," just outside the city.

During this camp, 512 sheep and goats, 44 dogs and 213 cows were diagnosed and provided with free treatment.

Some were vaccinated and others dewormed and helped get rid of pests. Gopala is now to be periodical feature helping those who earn livelihood from cattle and other animals.
