Muslims seek adequate representation

CUDDALORE: The members of the Dowheed Jama'at, including women, staged a dharna in front of the Uzhavar Sandhai here on Tuesday, seeking adequate representation for the Muslim community in the Backward Classes Commission.

State secretary of the Jama'at Muneer presided. They urged the Government to include certain leaders of the minority community in the commission. They also demanded that the tenure of the commission be reduced from two years to one year.
