Pondicherry: Education Minister M.O.H.F. Shahjahan said here on Tuesday that a 12-member committee has been formed to advise the Government to evolve an effective developmental plan for raising quality in education both at the school and at collegiate levels in the Union Territory. He told newsmen the committee headed by Education Minister would have the Secretary to Department of Education as its vice chairman. The Lt. Governor of Pondicherry issued an order in this regard. Other members are: Kittu Reddy (Sri Aurobindo Ashram), former Vice-Chancellor of Pondicherry University, Professor A Gnanam, the Principal of the Pondicherry Engineering College, the Principal of Petit Seminaire Higher Secondary School, the Director of Collegiate Education, the trustee of Chengalvarayan Trust Vepery, M. Balakrishnan, professor of Tamil in Pondicherry university S. Arokianathan, the Reader in the French Department in Pondicherry University, Nalini Thambi, former Joint Director of Education, P. Aruldoss and the Director of School Education (member Secretary).
