NEW DELHI:
The Dutch government is likely to set up a trade board with an India Action Plan as part of steps to increase bilateral trade.
This was indicated by Karien Van Gennip, Minister of Foreign Trade of the Netherlands at a meeting with Commerce Minister Kamal Nath on Tuesday, an official release said.
India-Netherlands trade during 2005-06 has risen by 46 per cent to around $4 billion, with Indian exports increasing by about 53 per cent and imports from the Netherlands by 31 per cent.
Mr. Kamal Nath invited the Dutch Minister to send a delegation of small and medium enterprises to foster cooperation between SMEs of both countries.
The two ministers noted the opportunities in India for Dutch investors, especially in infrastructure and IT.
The Dutch side mentioned Rotterdam Port Authority's plans to advise leading ports in India on large-scale modernisation, the release said.
