JAIPUR: Jagat Singh, son of former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh and MLA was on Tuesday expelled from the primary membership of the Congress. Pradesh Congress Committee president B.D.Kalla acting on the recommendations of the PCC Disciplinary Action Committee removed Mr. Singh, on charges of "anti-party activities." Mr. Singh is MLA from Laxmangarh in Alwar district. He was also a member of the Rajasthan PCC. He was served with a notice on August 18, with a fortnight's time to file a reply. Mr.Kalla explaining the reasons for the dismissal of Mr. Singh, said the PCC did not get any reply to the notice served on him. "Moreover, the party has taken seriously the utterances he made against senior party functionaries at the public rally organised in support of Mr.Natwar Singh in the capital on August 23," he noted. As to the fate of some other Congress functionaries, who too were served notices and were suspended around the time of the rally, the PCC sources said their cases were being taken up. "All of them were not served notices on the same day," the sources observed.
