KURNOOL: I.N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, professor of Hindi at S.V. University, Tirupati, said storywriter Premchand had written all his books targeting social evils. Addressing a seminar on `Kathakar Premchand - aaj our kal' at Osmania College here on Tuesday he said Premchand penned over 300 short stories in support of the downtrodden. Besides employing strong theme relevant to contemporary society, Premchand exhibited the finest literary skills with regard to diction and language structure. His writings provoked the British rulers to ban the books. Correspondent of Osmania Group of Colleges Arja Javed formally inaugurated the seminar while Administrative Officer Azmathulla Khan and others spoke. Principal Shoukat Alikhan presided. Sheik Salimbasha welcomed the gathering. Dr. Chandrasekhar Reddy was felicitated by the college authorities.
