Kakinada : The Rythu bazaar in the city would be modernised at a cost of Rs.10 lakhs and tenders are invited for execution of works, according to C. Sudersan Reddy Joint Collector. Addressing traders and officials here on Monday, he said, Rythu bazaar would be given a face-lift by improving the drainage system and renovation of the sheds. — Correspondent

RTC staff stage dharna

ELURU: Employees of APSRTC here on Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the district Collectorate under the banner of APSRTC National Mazdoor Union in protest against the reported plans of the government to `weaken' the corporation.

They demanded the repeal of the controversial GO 94 which seeks to privatise a major chunk of RTC routes. They also expressed their protest against the proposal for a joint survey by the district Collector and the RTC top brass on viability of operating RTC buses on certain routes in terms of revenues.- Staff Reporter

Medical camp
