Six pilgrims killed in road accident

The vehicle carrying pilgrims rams into stationary lorry

KADAPA: Six persons of Mahabubnagar district, on pilgrimage to Tirumala, were killed on the spot and eight others severely injured when their Tata Sumo rammed into a stationary lorry, near Bayyannapalle in Duvvur mandal, on Tuesday.

The victims were identified as Palakonda Srikanth (19), Palakonda Madhu (20), Palakonda Yadaiah (45), Palakonda Ramesh (20), Thatikonda Kumar (16) and Thatikonda Pentaiah (48), belonging to two families hailing from Rangapuram in Kothur mandal of Mahabubnagar district, according to the police.
