THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The People's Council for Protection of Civil Rights has come out against giving holidays continuously for a period of over one week to the law courts. Mathew Paul, the president of the Council said here on Tuesday that it delayed the moving and consideration of bail applications. Even though it was the State Government that declared holidays for banks in the State, all the holidays in Government sector were not applicable to banks. He suggested that such a system could be adopted in the case of the law courts too. "Some of these holidays should be declared restricted holidays."
