Haryana forms State Council on AIDS

Chandigarh: The Haryana Government has constituted State Council on AIDS and State Coordination Committee for coordinating HIV and AIDS programmes in the State.

The members of the committee, headed by Health and Family Welfare Minister, would include Chief Secretary, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, a nominee of National AIDS Control Organisation, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretaries of Health, Education and Industries Departments and Director General of Health Services. Among other members of the committee would be Director of Public Relations and Cultural Affairs, Confederation of Indian Industry Haryana president, Indian Medical Association (Haryana Branch) Honorary Secretary, a representative of Indian Red Cross Society (Haryana Branch), representatives of faith-based organisations, celebrities or icons and representatives of major partners and donors.

Project Director, Haryana AIDS Control Society would be the Member Secretary. -- UNI
