Hardwar: Uttaranchal Governor Sudharshan Agarwal on Tuesday honoured two eminent Sanskrit teachers on the occasion of Teachers' Day. The recipients were Hari Gopal Shastri and Kamlesh Bhatt. Addressing teachers, students and managers of Sanskrit schools of the State, the Governor said the teachers should strive hard to propagate the language and literature that is the repository of our ancient wisdom. He urged the teaching community to update and modernise the methodology and syllabi. Lauding the contribution of the teachers, vice-chairman of Uttaranchal Sanskrit Academy, Hardwar, Brahm Swaroop Brahmchari demanded parity in emoluments of teachers of Sanskrit schools and colleges with those of English. -- UNI
