CPI(M) panel to review approach towards UPA

It will meet in New Delhi in the third week of this month

BELLARY: The central committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) will be meeting in the third week of this month in New Delhi to review its approach towards the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government, according to M.K. Pandhe, committee member and president of the Centre for Indian Trade Unions.

He told presspersons here on Tuesday that the committee will discuss the situation arising in the wake of the "failure" of the UPA government in implementing the common minimum programme; its policies towards working class, nuclear deal; foreign direct investments, and price rise. It would decide on the steps to be taken by the party to fight against "anti-people" policies and mount pressure on the UPA government to implement the CMP, he said.The CPI (M) polit bureau would meet next week in Kolkata to discuss the issues and submit a report to the central committee, he said.
