BIJAPUR: A two-member gang made away with valuables worth Rs. 47,000 from a businessman's house at Gaddinkeri Cross near Bagalkot on Tuesday. According to complaint filed with Bagalkot Rural Police, two well-dressed youngsters came to the house of Shivayogappa Uppin on a motorcycle around 10-30 a.m. and introduced themselves to his wife as representatives of a detergent company. They said they would demonstrate how to use the product by cleaning the bathroom. Another person kept her engaged outside the house. After some time, when she came inside, she found the two missing. The almirah in the bedroom was left open and valuables missing. The Bagalkot Police have registered a case of burglary. They have requested the people, especially housewives, to be on the vigil while dealing with strangers.
