HASSAN: Minister for Public Works and Energy H.D. Revanna has said that the lacunae in the system of identifying beneficiaries and issuing Below Poverty Line (BPL) cards can be addressed only by handing over the entire responsibility to the Revenue authorities. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Mr. Revanna said that he had been receiving complaints on the discrepancies in identifying the beneficiaries and the problems posed by computerisation. The issue had been brought to the notice of the Chief Minister, he said. Mr. Kumaraswamy has assured that he will discuss the problem with the authorities concerned and take necessary steps in handing over the responsibility of identifying beneficiaries to the revenue authorities," he said. Work on the bus stand in Channapatnakere would start soon, he said.
