Srinagar:
After remaining closed to traffic for the past four days due to landslides triggered by heavy rain, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway was reopened on Tuesday evening.
The highway has been cleared of the landslides between Ramban and Ramsu, a 23-km stretch, by Border Roads Organisation personnel, a traffic department spokesperson said.
He said stranded vehicles on the highway, including trucks carrying essential commodities to the Valley, were allowed to move to their destinations.
He said the decision to allow fresh vehicles on the highway, which links Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, would be taken later on Tuesday night after consulting the Border Roads Organisation.
