State unit of VHP criticises boycott call

HYDERABAD:
The Andhra Pradesh West unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad has termed the call by the Darul-ulm-Deobandh and Indian Union Muslim League to Muslims not to send their children to schools on September 7, the centenary of Vande Mataram, as an `anti-national' act.
In a statement here on Tuesday, VHP leaders Manikyachari, working president and C.H. Lakshminadha Charyulu, general secretary, urged `patriotic' Muslims not to believe `jehadi communalists'.
They appealed to the Muslims and their children to sing Vande Mataram on September 7 to mark the concluding function of the centenary celebrations, the press release added..
