Abducted boy rescued after 3 years

He is suffering from depression and amnesia

HYDERABAD: The office of the DGP has asked for information pertaining to a boy called A. Bapuji, who was allegedly kidnapped three years ago, from near a railway station as he was playing with his friends, and taken to Chennai by train.

The boy was rescued by members of the Child Care Centre, Chennai on July 29 and kept there as he was depressed, suffering from disjointed memories and amnesia.

In a press release here, the DGP's office said the abductor had forced the boy to work as a server in Chennai. When the boy tried to get away, he was taken to Nagapattinam.

`Janda Veedhi'

Gentle persuasion revealed that the boy is also known as Praveen who said he was the son of Gurunadham alias Gurunadha Reddy and that he was from "Janda Veedhi", either in Nellore or Eluru.

Anyone who can provide information leading to boy's identity of the boy or any case of kidnapping or "man missing" in any police station in the State may pass on the information to the Additional DGP, CID at Hyderabad or inform Child Line Care Centre, Hyderabad at 040-1098 or its headquarters at Chennai at 044-1098, the release said.
