Abandoned car creates flutter

Staff Reporter

It was stolen by dacoit gang

HYDERABAD: A Maruthi car, with bloodstains on its windscreen, abandoned at Kanchanbagh kept police on tenterhooks for the past two days.

Detectives, however, heaved a sigh of relief on Tuesday after learning the car was left by an alleged dacoit gang, four members of which were arrested recently on charge of looting Vikas Jewellery shop at Malakpet.

The car, belonging to an officer of the rank of Deputy Secretary working in Secretariat, was stolen by the gang at Balamrai of Begumpet nearly a month ago, said Kanchanbagh Inspector Ramdas Teja.

The officer stopped by roadside to answer nature's call when four members of the gang came on two motorcycles. Two of them drove away the car using the keys left inside it. Goshamahal police arrested four members of the gang five days ago.
