BIJAPUR: The Bijapur City Municipal Council on Wednesday resumed water supply in the city which was facing acute scarcity of water for the past week. Localities such as Jalanagar, Keerthinagar, Viveknagar West, Sakaf Roza, Khadi Gramodyog Circle, Halli Layout received water today. Parts of Station Road and Jorapurpet localities also received water. According to sources in the water supply wing, localities such as Diwatgar Galli, Gyani Layout, Darbar Chal and Manjunath Nagar, and parts of Adarashnagar, Viveknagar, Kakakharkanis Nagar, Jorapurpet, Athani Road and Station Road will get water on Thursday. It required six days to ensure normal supply of water after it was disrupted a week ago following the bursting of the main pipeline near Honaganahalli Bridge.
