`Trishul' case against Togadia withdrawn
Special Correspondent
JAIPUR:
The Rajasthan Government has withdrawn the charges against Vishwa Hindu Parishad's international general secretary Pravin Togadia in the "trishul diksha" programme of April 2003 in Ajmer town.
The Ajmer police on Monday filed a final report in the case against Dr. Togadia, filed during the tenure of the previous Congress Government in the State, terming his speech at the programme not "provocative" or "inciting communal passion" as mentioned in the first information report (FIR).
The Government said Dr. Togadia's speech was "critical" but not "incendiary." The report presented by the police in the court to close the file also mentioned that no "trishul"(trident) was confiscated from him.
