Kakinada: The city Ganesh Utsav Samithi has expressed its strong resentment over the action of the police authorities denying permission for taking the giant size idol of Lord Ganesh installed by NCS group on beach road in procession for immersion at the Lok Manya Balagangadhara Tilak ghat in Upputeru in Jagannaickpur. A delegation of the samithi, consisting of Dusarlapudi Ramanaraju, president, Duvvuri Subrahmanyam, secretary, has called on District Revenue Officer Suryanarayana on Wednesday and presented a memorandum to him protesting against the police stance. They questioned the propriety in denying the permission for the big size idol contrary to the last year's system when an idol of much bigger size was allowed for taking in procession for immersion in Jagannaickpur. Later, the samithi staged a protest at the beach road delaying the idol immersion for an hour.
