Bina Ramani seeks anticipatory bail
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI:
Socialite Bina Ramani on Wednesday moved a Delhi court seeking anticipatory bail in a cheating case. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Kamini Lau will take up the application for hearing on Thursday.
Ms. Ramani filed the bail application following the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant (NBW) against her by Ms. Lau on an application by the Hauz Khas police. The police said Ms. Ramani was required for interrogation but she had refused to join it.
According to the FIR, Ms. Ramani had used forged documents to claim that she was the owner of "Once Upon A Time'' restaurant-cum-bar, also known as Tamarind Court at Qutub Colonnade in South Delhi, and that she had a licence to serve liquor there.
