Renovation of Kozhikode medical college wing in 18 months

Sreemathy inaugurates Red Cross Society office


  • Says the Centre has sanctioned Rs.50 crore for the wing
  • State-of-the-art facilities to be set up

    KANNUR: Minister for Health P.K. Sreemathy has said that renovation of the mother and child wing of the Government medical college hospital in Kozhikode will be completed in 18 months.

    Inaugurating the Red Cross Society office here on Wednesday, the Minister said the wing was tipped to become one of the most modern facilities in the public sector once the work was completed. The Centre had sanctioned Rs.50 crore for it, she said.

    Ms. Sreemathy said the renovation would include setting up of state-of-the-art facilities and expansion of the building. The Centre, which had sanctioned Rs. 30 crore for the renovation of the wing, enhanced its allocation as requested by the Left Democratic Front Government, she added.
