KANNUR: Employees and officers of Lord Krishna Bank branch here started indefinite strike on Wednesday as part of an agitation against the move to merge the bank with the Centurion Bank of Punjab, according to All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) here. AIBEA district secretary A.C. Madhavan said in a press release here that the strike was in response to the decision of the director boards of the two banks to merge the banks. He said that the striking employees and officers were demanding that the Reserve Bank of India deny approval for the merger and that the Lord Krishna Bank be merged with a public sector bank.
