Four of a marriage party killed in accident

Kadapa: Tragedy struck a marriage party when the bride's father and three others were killed and six others seriously injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry near Allwyn factory at Nandalur on Wednesday.

The bride's father Madduleti, his son-in-law Rama Rao, working as a manager in Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank at B. Kodur and grandson Pradeep, (20), and a close relative Ramesh, (12), were killed on the spot. Madduleti performed the marriage of his daughter at Tirumala on Tuesday and was returning to the bridegroom's house at Kadapa when the incident occurred.

MLA alerts police

The deceased as well as the injured belong to Pamur in Kurnool district. Kodur MLA, G.V. Prasad who was going that way alerted the police about the accident. The lorry driver fled the place after abandoning the vehicle half a kilometre away. Nandalur SI R.P. Raju shifted the injured to Rajampet Government hospital and registered a case.
