Police launch probe into case of attack on Dalit woman

NALGONDA: The district police are all set to file cases against those who summoned a woman G. Ramulamma to a kangaroo court at Udutalapally in Chandur mandal on Monday.

Reacting to media reports on the alleged attack on the Dalit woman, the police launched an enquiry into the incident and the Nalgonda Divisional Officer on Special Duty K. Chandrakanth Reddy visited the village.

The police found out that a close relative of Ms. Ramulamma was behind spreading canard that she had been wandering nude in the village during nights as part of some ritual to acquire supernatural powers, according to reliable sources.
