Three killed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three of a family, a 28-year-old woman and her two children, were killed on Wednesday at Manacaud after the woman along with her children allegedly doused their bodies with kerosene and set themselves on fire. The LPG from the cooking gas cylinder was also released during the incident. According to the Fort police Sreevidya, a resident of Kuriyathi, Manacaud took the step as she was upset with her husband's alcoholism. While Sreevidya was brought dead to the SAT hospital, the toddlers Sruti, 3, and Pooja, 1, died at the hospital here.

Teenager commits suicide

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 17-year-old girl, who is said to have attempted suicide along with her mother by consuming acid on Wednesday, died while the mother has been admitted to the Medical College hospital. The girl was identified as Painkili, and the mother, as Vasantha (38), of Parandode.

12 hurt in accident

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Twelve persons were injured when the KSRTC bus in which they were travelling collided with a lorry at Pravachambalam, near Nemom, on Wednesday evening. One person is under observation at the casualty of MCH while the others were send off after giving first aid.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 68-year-old woman was injured seriously when she was knocked down by a private bus at East Fort on Wednesday. Bharathiyamma of Sasthavattom underwent emergency surgery at Medical College hospital.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Siva Sena will observe the 100th anniversary of `Vande Mataram' at the Martyr's square on Thursday. The function will be inaugurated by party's State leader M.S. Bhuvanachandran. — Staff Reporter
