Bomb hoax at college
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE:
Students and staff of Jyothi Nivas Pre-University College in Koramangala went through some anxious moments on Wednesday following a bomb scare.
The police said that around 9.15 a.m., the receptionist at the college received an anonymous call that a bomb has been planted on the college premises. On being alerted, the Koramangala police, along with the staff of the Bomb Detection Squad, searched the college premises. No explosive was found and the call turned out to be a hoax, the police said. The call could not be traced because the telephone at the college does not have a caller identification device. In view of the increase in the bomb hoax calls, the Koramangala police had written to all institutions to install caller identification devices to their telephones.
